Facilities Supervisor: Full Time
Position: Facilities Supervisor (Full-Time with Benefits)

Purpose:

The Facility Supervisor’s primary function is to support and improve Houston Chinese Church’s primary activities by providing an optimal environment and safety of HCC’s church complex, by integrating members, processes, buildings, and technology. Making sure church building and ground are optimum function for HCC congregation.

Responsibilities

I. General Facility Matters

A. Maintenance and repair (could be done by contracting outside service if needed):

  • A/C units
  • Plumbing
  • Electrical
  • Pest Control
  • Ground Keeping
  • Locks, keys, Camera Monitoring and Entrance Access System
  • Fire, and Security Systems
  • General repairs
  • Appearance/Cleanliness

II.  Technical Support

A. Maintenance and management of mobile A/V items

  • Inventory and purchasing of facility supply and maintain an inventory of supplies

Qualifications:

Pearland Campus Lead Pastor 曉士頓中國教會梨城分堂誠聘分堂主領牧師
Purpose
Houston Chinese Church (HCC) is looking for a man of God to lead a satellite campus of HCC in Pearland, Texas, a community 15 miles south of Houston, Texas of approximately 70 adults and 20 youth and children. Under the oversight of HCC’s Lead Chinese Pastor and the Chinese Ministry Team, our vision is for this pastor to lead the existing Chinese and English congregations into a full-functioning independent church.

Relationship: During the initial period of the ministry, the person will serve as a member of the HCC ministerial team under the supervision of the Lead Chinese Pastor, with special assignment in Pearland. This individual will focus on the Pearland Campus and, if needed, will participate with various ministries at HCC.

Education: Master of Divinity degree or higher from a recognized accredited seminary

Experience: Minimum 3 or more years of pastoral ministry experience at a Chinese church in North America

Language: Mandarin and conversational English

Children's Ministry Intern/Resident: Full Time
Purpose
HCC has an opening for a Children’s Ministry Intern/Resident to run from June 2023 to June 2024. This will consist of a 12-week full-time internship followed by 9-month residency (residency will be 20-40 hours, depending on availability). The intern will work closely with the Children’s Minister and his team in the development and distribution of curriculum, and ministry standards. This includes using and adapting curriculum, development of policies and best practices, training of future leaders/volunteers, and development of new ministry practices. Aside from weekday office hours, he/she should be available to work on Friday evenings and Sunday mornings.

  • Assist and organize Kids Ministry ages 0-12.

  • Oversee implementation of policies and enforce compliance in critical risk areas

Chinese Administrative Assistant: Full Time
Purpose
HCC is looking for a full-time Chinese Administrative Assistant to create the weekly Chinese bulletin, help organize ministry events, coordinate baptism & membership for the Chinese congregation, and handle additional administrative duties as needed. The Chinese Administrative Assistant will work closely with Chinese ministerial staff to fulfill ministry needs, and they should be available to work office hours on Friday evenings/Sunday mornings.

Responsibilities:

  • make the Chinese bulletin every week
    • coordinate with different groups for announcements/church notices/order of service elements, etc.
    • follow-up on incomplete announcements or requests for short links and QR codes
    • designing and formatting on InDesign
  • maintain/update the Chinese website:
    • upload weekly bulletins
    • handle event promotion through carousels and new webpages, create and share short links, update ministry resources, etc
  • maintain/update the Breeze database: add new attendees, update contact information and pictures, update membership information, organize forms and tags, add Breeze events for check-in
  • translate documents/announcements/prayer requests/promotional materials, etc
  • help coordinate baptism and new members: organizing classes, coordinating interviews, processing applications, preparing certificate/gifts, et
  • write vouchers for outside speakers; maintain the speaker schedule for Mandarin/Cantonese/Pearland

IT Coordinator: Part Time

Purpose: To work with various departments and staff for the purpose of sharing the Gospel message and ministering to our community and the world via digital platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Update and redesign church website
  • Oversee the maintenance and administration of the ChMS (Breeze) database
  • Ensure that social media content is updated and fresh
  • Evaluate the administrative and ministry needs and how to migrate into digital platforms
  • Research the need for a dedicated server to church administration and upgrade it as needed
  • Help formulate HCC’s digital strategy, including but not limited to website, social media accounts, communication platforms
  • Oversee the coordination of Audio & Visual (A/V) training and support for volunteer coworkers
  • Oversee tech training (Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, Breeze, and etc) for church staff and volunteer coworkers
  • Maintenance of IT-related hardware and software
  • Act as primary point of contact for all technology related vendors, including but not limited to IT Managed Services Provider (MSP) services, web hosting services, technology related contract work

Nursery Caregiver: Part Time

Responsibilities & Duties:  At all times, two adults will be present in the nursery classrooms to provide nurture and care. The Nursery Caregivers will set-up the childcare space prior to the children’s arrival, welcome children and parents, pay attention to any specific concerns or needs the parent shares, and provide structure for playtime, snacks, & rest (as needed). This may include learning the names of the children and parents, reading books, singing songs, playing games, and assisting children with hand-washing & eating snacks, changing diapers, holding, rocking, and supporting the safety of the classroom through behavior management. It is the Nursery Caregiver’s responsibility to be sure that all children are cared for in an appropriate manner.

Time Required:  Nursery Caregivers will be scheduled for weekly events (Friday 7:00pm-9:00pm and/or Sunday 9:15am-12:15pm) and on an as-needed basis. All Nursery Caregivers are part-time. Caregivers are expected to be present approximately 30 minutes before the scheduled event and should stay until all the children in their care have been picked up by their parents and the classroom is cleaned up.

Skills needed/to be developed:  A love of children, behavior management skills, and the gifts of hospitality, patience, kindness, and joy. Caregivers should also desire to provide care to the children and should consider the children in their care their number one priority while working. Some experience with parenting, childcare, and/or teaching infants/toddlers is necessary. Fluent in English is required and fluent in Chinese is a plus!

Training Required:  According to Policies, HCC will conduct a criminal background check on all staff and volunteers working with children. Staff must also complete an orientation/training session once a year and additional continuing education in-services, as needed and/or as requested by the Children’s Ministry Team.

Children's Ministry Intern/Resident: Full Time
Purpose
HCC has an opening for a Children’s Ministry Intern/Resident to run from June 2023 to June 2024. This will consist of a 12-week full-time internship followed by 9-month residency (residency will be 20-40 hours, depending on availability). The intern will work closely with the Children’s Minister and his team in the development and distribution of curriculum, and ministry standards. This includes using and adapting curriculum, development of policies and best practices, training of future leaders/volunteers, and development of new ministry practices. Aside from weekday office hours, he/she should be available to work on Friday evenings and Sunday mornings.

HCC is looking for a full-time Chinese Administrative Assistant to create the weekly Chinese bulletin, help organize ministry events, coordinate baptism & membership for the Chinese congregation, and handle additional administrative duties as needed. IT Coordinator: Part Time

Purpose: To work with various departments and staff for the purpose of sharing the Gospel message and ministering to our community and the world via digital platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Update and redesign church website
  • Oversee the maintenance and administration of the ChMS (Breeze) database
  • Ensure that social media content is updated and fresh
  • Evaluate the administrative and ministry needs and how to migrate into digital platforms

Nursery Caregiver: Part Time

Responsibilities & Duties:  At all times, two adults will be present in the nursery classrooms to provide nurture and care. The Nursery Caregivers will set-up the childcare space prior to the children’s arrival, welcome children and parents, pay attention to any specific concerns or needs the parent shares, and provide structure for playtime, snacks, & rest (as needed). This may include learning the names of the children and parents, reading books, singing songs, playing games, and assisting children with hand-washing & eating snacks, changing diapers, holding, rocking, and supporting the safety of the classroom through behavior management. It is the Nursery Caregiver’s responsibility to be sure that all children are cared for in an appropriate manner.

Time Required:  Nursery Caregivers will be scheduled for weekly events (Friday 7:00pm-9:00pm and/or Sunday 9:15am-12:15pm) and on an as-needed basis. All Nursery Caregivers are part-time. Caregivers are expected to be present approximately 30 minutes before the scheduled event and should stay until all the children in their care have been picked up by their parents and the classroom is cleaned up.

Skills needed/to be developed:  A love of children, behavior management skills, and the gifts of hospitality, patience, kindness, and joy. Caregivers should also desire to provide care to the children and should consider the children in their care their number one priority while working. Some experience with parenting, childcare, and/or teaching infants/toddlers is necessary. Fluent in English is required and fluent in Chinese is a plus!

Training Required:  According to Policies, HCC will conduct a criminal background check on all staff and volunteers working with children. Staff must also complete an orientation/training session once a year and additional continuing education in-services, as needed and/or as requested by the Children’s Ministry Team.

Nursery Caregiver: Part Time

Responsibilities & Duties:  At all times, two adults will be present in the nursery classrooms to provide nurture and care. The Nursery Caregivers will set-up the childcare space prior to the children’s arrival, welcome children and parents, pay attention to any specific concerns or needs the parent shares, and provide structure for playtime, snacks, & rest (as needed). This may include learning the names of the children and parents, reading books, singing songs, playing games, and assisting children with hand-washing & eating snacks, changing diapers, holding, rocking, and supporting the safety of the classroom through behavior management. It is the Nursery Caregiver’s responsibility to be sure that all children are cared for in an appropriate manner.

Time Required:  Nursery Caregivers will be scheduled for weekly events (Friday 7:00pm-9:00pm and/or Sunday 9:15am-12:15pm) and on an as-needed basis. All Nursery Caregivers are part-time. Caregivers are expected to be present approximately 30 minutes before the scheduled event and should stay until all the children in their care have been picked up by their parents and the classroom is cleaned up.

Skills needed/to be developed:  A love of children, behavior management skills, and the gifts of hospitality, patience, kindness, and joy. Caregivers should also desire to provide care to the children and should consider the children in their care their number one priority while working. Some experience with parenting, childcare, and/or teaching infants/toddlers is necessary. Fluent in English is required and fluent in Chinese is a plus!

Children's Ministry Intern/Resident: Full Time

HCC has an opening for a Children’s Ministry Intern/Resident to run from June 2023 to June 2024. This will consist of a 12-week full-time internship followed by 9-month residency (residency will be 20-40 hours, depending on availability). The intern will work closely with the Children’s Minister and his team in the development and distribution of curriculum, and ministry standards. This includes using and adapting curriculum, development of policies and best practices, training of future leaders/volunteers, and development of new ministry practices. Aside from weekday office hours, he/she should be available to work on Friday evenings and Sunday mornings.

Children's Ministry Intern/Resident: Full Time
Purpose
HCC has an opening for a Children’s Ministry Intern/Resident to run from June 2023 to June 2024. This will consist of a 12-week full-time internship followed by 9-month residency (residency will be 20-40 hours, depending on availability). The intern will work closely with the Children’s Minister and his team in the development and distribution of curriculum, and ministry standards. This includes using and adapting curriculum, development of policies and best practices, training of future leaders/volunteers, and development of new ministry practices. Aside from weekday office hours, he/she should be available to work on Friday evenings and Sunday mornings.

HCC is looking for a full-time Chinese Administrative Assistant to create the weekly Chinese bulletin, help organize ministry events, coordinate baptism & membership for the Chinese congregation, and handle additional administrative duties as needed. The Chinese Administrative Assistant will work closely with Chinese ministerial staff to fulfill ministry needs, and they should be available to work office hours on Friday evenings/Sunday mornings.

Purpose: To work with various departments and staff for the purpose of sharing the Gospel message and ministering to our community and the world via digital platforms.

Nursery Caregiver: Part Time

Responsibilities & Duties:  At all times, two adults will be present in the nursery classrooms to provide nurture and care. The Nursery Caregivers will set-up the childcare space prior to the children’s arrival, welcome children and parents, pay attention to any specific concerns or needs the parent shares, and provide structure for playtime, snacks, & rest (as needed). This may include learning the names of the children and parents, reading books, singing songs, playing games, and assisting children with hand-washing & eating snacks, changing diapers, holding, rocking, and supporting the safety of the classroom through behavior management. It is the Nursery Caregiver’s responsibility to be sure that all children are cared for in an appropriate manner.

Time Required:  Nursery Caregivers will be scheduled for weekly events (Friday 7:00pm-9:00pm and/or Sunday 9:15am-12:15pm) and on an as-needed basis. All Nursery Caregivers are part-time. Caregivers are expected to be present approximately 30 minutes before the scheduled event and should stay until all the children in their care have been picked up by their parents and the classroom is cleaned up.

Skills needed/to be developed:  A love of children, behavior management skills, and the gifts of hospitality, patience, kindness, and joy. Caregivers should also desire to provide care to the children and should consider the children in their care their number one priority while working. Some experience with parenting, childcare, and/or teaching infants/toddlers is necessary. Fluent in English is required and fluent in Chinese is a plus!

Training Required:  According to Policies, HCC will conduct a criminal background check on all staff and volunteers working with children. Children's Ministry Intern/Resident: Full Time
Purpose
HCC has an opening for a Children’s Ministry Intern/Resident to run from June 2023 to June 2024. This will consist of a 12-week full-time internship followed by 9-month residency (residency will be 20-40 hours, depending on availability). The intern will work closely with the Children’s Minister and his team in the development and distribution of curriculum, and ministry standards. This includes using and adapting curriculum, development of policies and best practices, training of future leaders/volunteers, and development of new ministry practices. Aside from weekday office hours, he/she should be available to work on Friday evenings and Sunday mornings.

Chinese Administrative Assistant: Full Time
Purpose
HCC is looking for a full-time Chinese Administrative Assistant to create the weekly Chinese bulletin, help organize ministry events, coordinate baptism & membership for the Chinese congregation, and handle additional administrative duties as needed. The Chinese Administrative Assistant will work closely with Chinese ministerial staff to fulfill ministry needs, and they should be available to work office hours on Friday evenings/Sunday mornings.

IT Coordinator: Part Time

Purpose: To work with various departments and staff for the purpose of sharing the Gospel message and ministering to our community and the world via digital platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Update and redesign church website
  • Oversee the maintenance and administration of the ChMS (Breeze) database
  • Ensure that social media content is updated and fresh
  • Evaluate the administrative and ministry needs and how to migrate into digital platforms
  • Research the need for a dedicated server to church administration and upgrade it as needed
  • Help formulate HCC’s digital strategy, including but not limited to website, social media accounts, communication platforms

Nursery Caregiver: Part Time

Responsibilities & Duties:  At all times, two adults will be present in the nursery classrooms to provide nurture and care. The Nursery Caregivers will set-up the childcare space prior to the children’s arrival, welcome children and parents, pay attention to any specific concerns or needs the parent shares, and provide structure for playtime, snacks, & rest (as needed). This may include learning the names of the children and parents, reading books, singing songs, playing games, and assisting children with hand-washing & eating snacks, changing diapers, holding, rocking, and supporting the safety of the classroom through behavior management. It is the Nursery Caregiver’s responsibility to be sure that all children are cared for in an appropriate manner.

Time Required:  Nursery Caregivers will be scheduled for weekly events (Friday 7:00pm-9:00pm and/or Sunday 9:15am-12:15pm) and on an as-needed basis. All Nursery Caregivers are part-time. Caregivers are expected to be present approximately 30 minutes before the scheduled event and should stay until all the children in their care have been picked up by their parents and the classroom is cleaned up.

Skills needed/to be developed:  A love of children, behavior management skills, and the gifts of hospitality, patience, kindness, and joy. Caregivers should also desire to provide care to the children and should consider the children in their care their number one priority while working. Some experience with parenting, childcare, and/or teaching infants/toddlers is necessary. Fluent in English is required and fluent in Chinese is a plus!

Training Required:  According to Policies, HCC will conduct a criminal background check on all staff and volunteers working with children. Staff must also complete an orientation/training session once a year and additional continuing education in-services, as needed and/or as requested by the Children’s Ministry Team.

Pearland Campus Lead Pastor 曉士頓中國教會梨城分堂誠聘分堂主領牧師

Houston Chinese Church (HCC) is looking for a man of God to lead a satellite campus of HCC in Pearland, Texas, a community 15 miles south of Houston, Texas of approximately 70 adults and 20 youth and children. Under the oversight of HCC’s Lead Chinese Pastor and the Chinese Ministry Team, our vision is for this pastor to lead the existing Chinese and English congregations into a full-functioning independent church.

IT Coordinator: Part Time

Purpose: To work with various departments and staff for the purpose of sharing the Gospel message and ministering to our community and the world via digital platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Update and redesign church website
  • Oversee the maintenance and administration of the ChMS (Breeze) database
  • Ensure that social media content is updated and fresh
  • Evaluate the administrative and ministry needs and how to migrate into digital platforms
  • Research the need for a dedicated server to church administration and upgrade it as needed

Nursery Caregiver: Part Time

Responsibilities & Duties:  At all times, two adults will be present in the nursery classrooms to provide nurture and care. The Nursery Caregivers will set-up the childcare space prior to the children’s arrival, welcome children and parents, pay attention to any specific concerns or needs the parent shares, and provide structure for playtime, snacks, & rest (as needed). This may include learning the names of the children and parents, reading books, singing songs, playing games, and assisting children with hand-washing & eating snacks, changing diapers, holding, rocking, and supporting the safety of the classroom through behavior management. It is the Nursery Caregiver’s responsibility to be sure that all children are cared for in an appropriate manner.

Time Required:  Nursery Caregivers will be scheduled for weekly events (Friday 7:00pm-9:00pm and/or Sunday 9:15am-12:15pm) and on an as-needed basis. All Nursery Caregivers are part-time. Caregivers are expected to be present approximately 30 minutes before the scheduled event and should stay until all the children in their care have been picked up by their parents and the classroom is cleaned up.

Skills needed/to be developed:  A love of children, behavior management skills, and the gifts of hospitality, patience, kindness, and joy. Caregivers should also desire to provide care to the children and should consider the children in their care their number one priority while working. Some experience with parenting, childcare, and/or teaching infants/toddlers is necessary. Fluent in English is required and fluent in Chinese is a plus!

Training Required:  According to Policies, HCC will conduct a criminal background check on all staff and volunteers working with children. Houston Chinese Church (HCC) is looking for a man of God to lead a satellite campus of HCC in Pearland, Texas, a community 15 miles south of Houston, Texas of approximately 70 adults and 20 youth and children. Under the oversight of HCC’s Lead Chinese Pastor and the Chinese Ministry Team, our vision is for this pastor to lead the existing Chinese and English congregations into a full-functioning independent church.

Relationship: During the initial period of the ministry, the person will serve as a member of the HCC ministerial team under the supervision of the Lead Chinese Pastor, with special assignment in Pearland. This individual will focus on the Pearland Campus and, if needed, will participate with various ministries at HCC.

Education: Master of Divinity degree or higher from a recognized accredited seminary

Children's Ministry Intern/Resident: Full Time
Purpose
HCC has an opening for a Children’s Ministry Intern/Resident to run from June 2023 to June 2024. This will consist of a 12-week full-time internship followed by 9-month residency (residency will be 20-40 hours, depending on availability). The intern will work closely with the Children’s Minister and his team in the development and distribution of curriculum, and ministry standards. This includes using and adapting curriculum, development of policies and best practices, training of future leaders/volunteers, and development of new ministry practices. Aside from weekday office hours, he/she should be available to work on Friday evenings and Sunday mornings.

Children's Ministry Intern/Resident: Full Time
Purpose
HCC has an opening for a Children’s Ministry Intern/Resident to run from June 2023 to June 2024. This will consist of a 12-week full-time internship followed by 9-month residency (residency will be 20-40 hours, depending on availability). The intern will work closely with the Children’s Minister and his team in the development and distribution of curriculum, and ministry standards. This includes using and adapting curriculum, development of policies and best practices, training of future leaders/volunteers, and development of new ministry practices. Aside from weekday office hours, he/she should be available to work on Friday evenings and Sunday mornings.

Purpose
HCC is looking for a full-time Chinese Administrative Assistant to create the weekly Chinese bulletin, help organize ministry events, coordinate baptism & membership for the Chinese congregation, and handle additional administrative duties as needed. The Chinese Administrative Assistant will work closely with Chinese ministerial staff to fulfill ministry needs, and they should be available to work office hours on Friday evenings/Sunday mornings.

Purpose: To work with various departments and staff for the purpose of sharing the Gospel message and ministering to our community and the world via digital platforms.

  • Update and redesign church website

Nursery Caregiver: Part Time

Responsibilities & Duties:  At all times, two adults will be present in the nursery classrooms to provide nurture and care. The Nursery Caregivers will set-up the childcare space prior to the children’s arrival, welcome children and parents, pay attention to any specific concerns or needs the parent shares, and provide structure for playtime, snacks, & rest (as needed). This may include learning the names of the children and parents, reading books, singing songs, playing games, and assisting children with hand-washing & eating snacks, changing diapers, holding, rocking, and supporting the safety of the classroom through behavior management. It is the Nursery Caregiver’s responsibility to be sure that all children are cared for in an appropriate manner.

Time Required:  Nursery Caregivers will be scheduled for weekly events (Friday 7:00pm-9:00pm and/or Sunday 9:15am-12:15pm) and on an as-needed basis. All Nursery Caregivers are part-time. Caregivers are expected to be present approximately 30 minutes before the scheduled event and should stay until all the children in their care have been picked up by their parents and the classroom is cleaned up.

Skills needed/to be developed:  A love of children, behavior management skills, and the gifts of hospitality, patience, kindness, and joy. Caregivers should also desire to provide care to the children and should consider the children in their care their number one priority while working. Some experience with parenting, childcare, and/or teaching infants/toddlers is necessary. Fluent in English is required and fluent in Chinese is a plus!

Training Required:  According to Policies, HCC will conduct a criminal background check on all staff and volunteers working with children. Children's Ministry Intern/Resident: Full Time
Purpose
HCC has an opening for a Children’s Ministry Intern/Resident to run from June 2023 to June 2024. This will consist of a 12-week full-time internship followed by 9-month residency (residency will be 20-40 hours, depending on availability). The intern will work closely with the Children’s Minister and his team in the development and distribution of curriculum, and ministry standards. This includes using and adapting curriculum, development of policies and best practices, training of future leaders/volunteers, and development of new ministry practices. Aside from weekday office hours, he/she should be available to work on Friday evenings and Sunday mornings.

Duties & Responsibilities Once Trained:

  • Assist and organize Kids Ministry ages 0-12.
  • Attend weekly meetings with the Church Ministry Staff.
  • Meeting with and working with the Children’s Minister and Children’s Ministry Staff.
  • Ensure the safety and security of all areas of Kids Ministry.
  • Oversee implementation of policies and enforce compliance in critical risk areas
  • Ensure facility cleanliness according to church standards for every area of Kids Ministry
  • Assist and train future leaders/volunteers for nursery and kids ministry areas
  • Work closely with the staff to analyze effectiveness of programs and adjust as needed
  • Clearly communicate the vision and mission of the church, as applied to Children’s Ministry
  • Other duties as assigned

Chinese Administrative Assistant: Full Time
Purpose
HCC is looking for a full-time Chinese Administrative Assistant to create the weekly Chinese bulletin, help organize ministry events, coordinate baptism & membership for the Chinese congregation, and handle additional administrative duties as needed. The Chinese Administrative Assistant will work closely with Chinese ministerial staff to fulfill ministry needs, and they should be available to work office hours on Friday evenings/Sunday mornings.

Responsibilities:

  • make the Chinese bulletin every week
    • coordinate with different groups for announcements/church notices/order of service elements, etc.
    • follow-up on incomplete announcements or requests for short links and QR codes
    • designing and formatting on InDesign
  • maintain/update the Chinese website:
    • upload weekly bulletins
    • handle event promotion through carousels and new webpages, create and share short links, update ministry resources, etc
  • maintain/update the Breeze database: add new attendees, update contact information and pictures, update membership information, organize forms and tags, add Breeze events for check-in
  • translate documents/announcements/prayer requests/promotional materials, etc
  • help coordinate baptism and new members: organizing classes, coordinating interviews, processing applications, preparing certificate/gifts, et
  • write vouchers for outside speakers; maintain the speaker schedule for Mandarin/Cantonese/Pearland
  • help coordinate funerals and special occasions: announcements, printing programs, ordering flowers, catering food, etc
  • cooperate with all Mandarin and Cantonese ministries:
    • print bulletin inserts for events
    • make Sunday School signs and printing/prepping materials needed for Sunday School
    • prepare printouts & equipment requests for fellowships
    • design promotional materials (such as website carousels, bulletin inserts, posters, door signs, and more)
  • handle Zoom and room reservations (including coordinating when people need to change rooms or we need to rearrange to accommodate AV requests)
  • make/update church signs (e.g. welcome signs, COVID signs, etc)
  • send announcements to be posted in Chinese newspapers
  • arrange piano tuner visits
  • order communion supplies as needed
  • assist the Church Council (announcements, preparation for membership meetings, sending email announcements)
  • create the lunch service schedule and sending out weekly reminders to small groups who are serving
  • assist pastoral staff with other scheduling and administrative needs

IT Coordinator: Part Time

Purpose: To work with various departments and staff for the purpose of sharing the Gospel message and ministering to our community and the world via digital platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Update and redesign church website
  • Oversee the maintenance and administration of the ChMS (Breeze) database
  • Ensure that social media content is updated and fresh
  • Evaluate the administrative and ministry needs and how to migrate into digital platforms
  • Research the need for a dedicated server to church administration and upgrade it as needed
  • Help formulate HCC’s digital strategy, including but not limited to website, social media accounts, communication platforms
  • Oversee the coordination of Audio & Visual (A/V) training and support for volunteer coworkers
  • Oversee tech training (Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, Breeze, and etc) for church staff and volunteer coworkers
  • Maintenance of IT-related hardware and software
  • Act as primary point of contact for all technology related vendors, including but not limited to IT Managed Services Provider (MSP) services, web hosting services, technology related contract work

Organizational Relationships

  • Accountability: The IT Coordinator is directly accountable to the Church Administrator (or Executive Pastor). This accountability is maintained through personal contact and other means. The IT Coordinator will be subjected to a formal review on an annual basis after his/her first year of employment.
  • Staff Relationships: The IT Coordinator will work closely with members of the pastoral staff. He/She shall work to maintain healthy, professional relationships with church staff through mutual support.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge in computer software & hardware maintenance
  • Knowledge in IT helpdesk/desktop support
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and nontechnical end users at all levels of the organization

Nursery Caregiver: Part Time

Responsibilities & Duties:  At all times, two adults will be present in the nursery classrooms to provide nurture and care. The Nursery Caregivers will set-up the childcare space prior to the children’s arrival, welcome children and parents, pay attention to any specific concerns or needs the parent shares, and provide structure for playtime, snacks, & rest (as needed). This may include learning the names of the children and parents, reading books, singing songs, playing games, and assisting children with hand-washing & eating snacks, changing diapers, holding, rocking, and supporting the safety of the classroom through behavior management. It is the Nursery Caregiver’s responsibility to be sure that all children are cared for in an appropriate manner.

Time Required:  Nursery Caregivers will be scheduled for weekly events (Friday 7:00pm-9:00pm and/or Sunday 9:15am-12:15pm) and on an as-needed basis. All Nursery Caregivers are part-time. Caregivers are expected to be present approximately 30 minutes before the scheduled event and should stay until all the children in their care have been picked up by their parents and the classroom is cleaned up.

Skills needed/to be developed:  A love of children, behavior management skills, and the gifts of hospitality, patience, kindness, and joy. Caregivers should also desire to provide care to the children and should consider the children in their care their number one priority while working. Some experience with parenting, childcare, and/or teaching infants/toddlers is necessary. Fluent in English is required and fluent in Chinese is a plus!

Training Required:  According to Policies, HCC will conduct a criminal background check on all staff and volunteers working with children. Staff must also complete an orientation/training session once a year and additional continuing education in-services, as needed and/or as requested by the Children’s Ministry Team.
