As Christians, we read the Old Testament in light of New Testament realities. So the Passover meal in Exodus has been reinterpreted as the First Supper. It’s a ritual meal that finds its fulfillment in the Last Supper shared by Christ and his apostles and its recapitulation in the Lord’s Supper shared by Christ and his Church today.
