If you have a hard time believing that the Christmas story (of God becoming man) can be anything more than a legendary tale, you're certainly not the first. Ancient Jews and Gentiles would've been equally skeptical. And yet the first Christians insisted that it was fitting for their God to choose to save in just this way. It was fitting that he would become like us in every respect.
