Here we have a tragic portrait of a spiritually-advantaged, gifted man who fails to live up to his calling. He just lives for himself, doing whatever he wants whenever he wants. But to our surprise he is actually doing what God wants – to separate His people from an enemy with whom they have grown far too comfortable.
