Paul describes Timothy’s relationship with the members of his congregation as a family. As a family unit, believers are to treat one another with love and respect. In particular, Paul focuses on widows that may or may not have family. Paul spells out the families’ responsibility as well as the church’s responsibility in caring for the widows.
