The focus of the Book of Jonah is not about the big fish nor about Jonah, but it is about the compassionate and sovereign God, who calls Jonah on a mission, to leave his comfort zone, to minister to an evil group of people with God's message. Although Jonah rebels and flees from God's presence, God uses Jonah's resistance to bring glory to Himself.
