Since Genesis 12, Abraham has had his share of stumbles and shameful moments, but on the whole, he has matured into a man of faith and a prophetic leader. And yet on the cusp of receiving his promised son – and his greatest demonstration of faith in giving that son back to God – Abraham reverts back to an old sin pattern. This episode in his life may be embarrassing, but it offers hope for believers dealing with their own sin struggles.
