The gospel is described here as the mystery of Christ. We usually think of a mystery as some sort of hidden puzzle to be solved by use of intellect. But in New Testament parlance, a mystery is a hidden truth that you'd never piece together - because it's so counter intuitive. You'd never consider it- unless it was divinely and graciously revealed to you.
