If we reflect upon grace, then we wouldn't like it very much. Grace says that we contribute nothing to our salvation. Yet we want to say: "We did something to be worthy of God saving me." Unless we recognize our utter helplessness in sin, we will never embrace the reformation teaching: "Grace alone".
