Jesus Mocked | Mark 15:16–32
Preached By Melvin Huang
Today’s passage covers the climax of Passion Week. On the day Jesus is crucified though, Mark focuses not on the physical abuse and torture Christ suffers, but on the mocking and scorn he endures. Yet, despite and through such mockery, he reveals himself as the true, sinless, and saving King. In three acts filled with irony, we recognize that Jesus is our true King and Savior not by avoiding humiliation, derision, and death, but in love, willingly enduring them to save us.
