The Purpose of Pentecost | Acts 2
Preached By Travis Cardwell
Bible Book(s): Acts

Pentecost was a season pregnant with significance; it was the feast to celebrate the harvest and the traditional day when God gave Moses the Law. So it is small wonder that God chose this day to demonstrate, in no uncertain terms, that He was with the fledgling church and would be with them as they embarked on their mission to be Christ’s witnesses to Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the ends of the earth. Chapter 2 begins with the event of Pentecost, then gives the explanation of what it means (v14-42), and ends with the effect of Pentecost (v. 42-end).
